You can apply through the website or via email: elena@socialelegance.co.uk
No; you can be resident in any country. Social Elegance welcomes people from all countries and backgrounds.
We select on the basis of a mixture of:
Yes; you are welcome to apply again, but only once within a 12-month period.
You attend only the events that you choose. You are under no obligation to attend every event. Please check Instagram/Facebook for a full list of events.
Most events are for 10 to 20 people; but a few might have as many as 100.
Currently, there is no annual membership fee, but this might change in the future. The only financial obligation is purchasing tickets to the events that you would like to attend.
Attendance at all events requires the purchase of a ticket and prices vary between events. Please check Social Elegance Instagram/Facebook for details.
If you would like to reserve a space for any of our events, please note that it is on first-come, first-served basis, and you will be expected to pay the amount in full in order to guarantee your place.
Usually, we offer two to three events a week during the academic term time. We do not offer events over Christmas or on bank holidays. Please check Instagram/Facebook for full and accurate information on our event programme.
Inviting a guest is possible, but there are restrictions. Please email Elena Rowland directly about such matters: elena@socialelegance.co.uk If your guest is approved, then either you or they you will have to pay for their ticket in advance.
Yes; your membership is valid for close family members. Separate tickets must be purchased for family members.
As far as children are concerned, while they are welcome there might be a restriction if the event is not suitable for young people.
There is always a dress code, so please check in advance that you are properly dressed. Social Elegance will notify you in a timely manner as to the exact dress code. Some of our events are held at members-only clubs and, of course, their dress code is strictly enforced. Again, you will be properly notified in advance. Should you fail to comply with the dress code, you might be denied access. In that case, Social Elegance does not bear any responsibility for your missing the event.
You can make a reservation at any time to secure your place at events or courses organised by Social Elegance. In order to guarantee your place, you must make a non-refundable 100% payment no later than 14 days before the event.
Once your payment has been received, you will receive an email with final confirmation and arrangements for the event.
All payments should be in pounds sterling (British pounds) and made via bank transfer.
All ticket purchases are final and non-transferable and cannot be resold. If for unforeseen reasons you cannot make an event and want to give the ticket to a friend, this is possible, but only with the prior approval of Social Elegance.
Social Elegance reserves the right to postpone any event due to industrial action, ill health or any other force majeur situation. It will make every effort to inform its members.
Requests by members to cancel their booking will be considered on a case-by-case basis. If less than 14 days’ notice is given, a credit note, valid for up to 12 months against future Social Elegance events, may be offered on condition that the place given up is re-sold.
Any costs incurred through damage or breakage to any venues and their property, as well as to the belongings or equipment owned or sourced by Social Elegance or affiliated partners, will be covered by the person committing the offence.
Social Elegance asks all members to arrive by the time stipulated on the course welcome information. No refund is possible if you fail to show up on time.
Please inform us in advance if you have dietary restrictions or concerns. If such notification is not given, then Social Elegance is not responsible for any inconveniences that might arise.
When lunch or dinner follows our events, please notify us if you would like to attend.
Please note that lunch/dinner also requires a seperate fee and deposit. Should you cancel seven days or less before the event, you will be charged a 50% fee.
For social season events, such as Ascot, Henley Regatta, Wimbeldon and more, you need to reserve your place on a first-come, first-served basis by making a non-refundable deposit. These tickets, however, are transferable but only with the director's permission.
Social Elegance may film or photograph its events for internal or external marketing purposes. Members who do not wish to be captured must alert Social Elegance in writing no less than five working days before the event date. Likewise, Social Elegance will inform members of any planned filming or photography by any third party. Please note that members are forbidden from making any recordings - film or audio - of any class or event organised by Social Elegance unless prior permission is sought. If any participant wishes to be excluded from member recordings, they should email the director no less than three days in advance of the event. Should there be any inadvertent recording by members of those who do not wish to be recorded, they will be asked to delete the recordings.
Social Elegance also offers the option to have private instruction, lasting between two to three hours per session. Such classes are personally conducted in Russian by Elena Rowland. The payment and cancellation policies are the same as for group events.
